A Wedding Weekend All to Yourselves

One of the biggest draws of 1880 Union Hotel is that couples can buy out the entire property. That means the hotel and grounds are privately yours, with no other guests sharing the space and no need to work around someone else’s schedule.

With accommodations for up to 20 guests across nine guest rooms including bunk room with a detached bathroom, the property is especially well suited for couples who want their wedding party or closest family members to stay together throughout the weekend.

Everything is located on the second floor except for the attached saloon, creating an intimate little world upstairs for the wedding party.

There’s the President’s Suite and Governor’s Suite for brides and grooms respectively. There’s also a bridal dressing room, lounge space, and a kitchenette, giving everyone room to get ready, relax, snack, and spend time together without ever having to leave the property.

Inside the bridal suite are not one, but TWO hidden bookcase doors connecting to the hallway and President’s Suite. There’s also a small vintage game room next to the kitchenette, adding to that feeling that you’re exploring a historic house rather than simply staying at a hotel.

And then there’s the saloon.

Behind what looks like an ordinary mirror on the first floor is a hidden door leading to the historic western saloon attached to the hotel. It’s exactly the kind of detail that would make for a memorable reveal during a wedding weekend.

And if the existence of the saloon wasn’t cool enough on it’s own, it’s also available for wedding afterparties until 2 a.m., meaning the celebration doesn’t have to end when the reception does.

The bridal suite might be one of our favorite parts of the property.

Two gorgeous sliding doors feature what looks like stained glass and open onto mini balconies that create some really unique opportunities for bridal and couple’s portraits. Whether your wedding photographer is capturing a photo from above or below, using the architecture and balconies can create portraits that feel completely different from the typical getting-ready photos.

There are also full balconies connected to both the Governor’s Suite and Presidential Suite. The two spaces are visually separated, which is such a thoughtful detail for couples who want to stay close while still maintaining the tradition of not seeing each other before their ceremony or first look.

It’s the kind of setup that allows the wedding party to enjoy the property together while preserving some of the anticipation of the day.

Everything is cooked in-house by Executive Chef, Noban Shahid, with menus built from scratch alongside each couple. The focus is on seasonal Central Coast cooking, making the food feel connected to the location rather than like a standard wedding catering package.
